We hope to see you at The Inn at Spanish Bay ("Spanish Bay") for our 2010 annual meeting. The dates for this year’s events are Wednesday, October 13 through Friday, October 15.
As the cut-off date for reservations (August 25, 2010) is earlier than recent programs, we urge you to complete your application online at www.nationalbondclaims.org and make your reservations at Spanish Bay as soon as possible. We will make every effort to accommodate all member requests, but we need your cooperation. We expect a great turnout given the very reasonable rates for Spanish Bay
This site contains all pertinent information regarding the program, hotel reservations, travel and recreation. Please read the information carefully and make sure your registration forms are correct.
In an effort to increase company membership and encourage younger individuals of the industry to become members of the NBCA, a scholarship program was established last year. If you would like to nominate an individual for this scholarship, please click on the "Scholarship" link and enter the necessary information. The scholarship will include the program fees, accommodations and program meals during the annual seminar. A travel allowance of $300.00 will also be included. Any member of the NBCA may nominate an individual; however, the nominee must be a "company" person.
THE PROGRAM
The program dates are Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 15. The Board is committed to offering a quality program with topics and speakers that will provide a meaningful and worthwhile experience. Our program has historically qualified for CLE and CE credits in many states. If you are interested in CLE and CE accreditation, please complete the information requested on the registration form or contact Phil Alber, our Program Chair, at (248) 822-6190. Please sign the roster sheets before the beginning of the scheduled program. You only need to sign the roster sheets once however, you will need to sign for each state from which you want to receive credit.
REGISTRATION FEE AND FORM
The NBCA Registration Form for the NBCA Meeting, events and NBCA Memorial Golf Tournament can be found by selecting the link titled "NBCA Registration."
As in past years, you have the option of paying by credit card or by check. If you elect to use a credit card, please fill out the NBCA Registration Form. Once you click on the "Submit" button, you will be required to enter your credit card information. If you wish to pay by check, please click on the link "Pay by Check", print the NBCA Registration Form, complete the form, and return it, along with your payment, to Nihill & Riedley, P.C. (The Public Ledger Building, Ste. 800, 150 South Independence Mall West, Philadelphia, PA 19106) on or before August 25, 2010. Please make all checks payable to "NBCA".
The registration fee is $995.00. There will be a $100 early registration discount if payment is received on/before August 25, 2010. The Registration Fee and the Thursday NBCA Golf Fee are waived for all surety company representatives. However, company representatives must send the completed NBCA Registration Form in order to confirm attendance and event preferences. (Due to the interest in golf, available openings will be filled on a "first come, first serve" basis.)
THE MEETING IS FOR MEMBERS ONLY. NON-MEMBER SPOUSES AND HEIRS ARE NOT INVITED TO ATTEND THE FUNCTIONS. IN KEEPING WITHIN THE NBCA GUIDELINES, ATTENDANCE OF NON-COMPANY REPRESENTATIVES IS LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF FOUR (4) MEMBERS FROM ANY ENTITY.
HOTEL REGISTRATION
In order to obtain the best rates, the NBCA has guaranteed a minimum number of room nights with Spanish Bay. We therefore require members to register for accommodations at Spanish Bay in order to help the NBCA fulfill its contractual commitment.
Each member will be responsible for making his/her own hotel reservation. This can only be accomplished by mailing or faxing the Room Reservation Form to Spanish Bay at:

The cutoff date for reservations will be August 25, 2010. Room reservations requested after that date will not be guaranteed but will be provided at rates based on availability.
Garden View $295/night
Forest View $295/night
The above rates are for October 12, 13 and 14 only and do not include a hotel occupancy tax (10.5%), County Tourism Assessment ($1.00 per occupied room night) and service charges ($25.00 per room, per night).
The above rates include lodging and the following meals:
Wednesday (10/14) - dinner*
Thursday (10/15) - breakfast, lunch* and dinner*
Friday (10/16) - breakfast
* These are planned events by the organization.
If you plan on staying any additional nights outside of the October 12 - 14, the rate will be $595.00 per night, valid only for 3 days before and 3 days after the official program dates. These rates do not include taxes and service charges.
CANCELLATION FEE
Seminar/Activities
Due to the various expenses and commitments, cancellation will only be allowed on or before August 25, 2010. No cancellations will be allowed after that date for registration or any other NBCA sponsored activities.
Hotel
All reservations must be accompanied by a room deposit equal to each night's room and tax charges and guaranteed with a major credit card. No-shows and cancellations will be charged to the individual credit card.
Travel
Spanish Bay is conveniently accessed by commercial air service via Monterey Peninsula Airport. For driving directions, please refer to the link titled "Directions to Spanish Bay by Car".
Shuttle Service
To secure shuttle service from Monterey Peninsula Airport, please refer to the link titled "Spanish Bay Transportation Shuttle Service" for rates and relevant information.
RECREATION
Memorial Golf Tournament
On Wednesday, October 13, 2010 we will hold the Fifteenth Annual NBCA Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament will be at the Spanish Bay and Del Monte golf courses (tee time is 1:00pm). The cost is $275/player. Since its inception in 1996, this tournament has raised $160,000 for various charities.
NBCA Golf Tournament
On Thursday, October 14, 2010, we will hold the Annual NBCA Golf Tournament. The golf tournament will be at the Spanish Bay and Del Monte golf courses (tee time is 1:00pm). The cost is $275/player, with the fee being waived for Company personnel.
Alternate Activity
On Thursday, October 14, 2010, for those not interested in participating in golf, this year we will be offering two activities to choose from. All participants will meet at the patio area outside of the ballroom at Spanish Bay by 12 noon. One shuttle will transport all participants (whether going Monterey Bay Sailing to or to Monterey Bay Aquarium).
1. Sailing (a 2 hour bay cruise in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary). The ship sails at 1pm. The shuttle will be waiting for you by 3pm (when the ship returns) and return you to the hotel.
2. Monterey Bay Aquarium/Cannery Row. The shuttle will pick up the participants from the aquarium at 4:30pm and return you to the hotel.
The cost for each of these activities is $50/person, with the fee being waived for Company personnel. If you would like further information concerning the either of these activities please contact Dina Bove at 215-238-8450.
Tennis
If you wish to play tennis, please feel free to contact Spanish Bay directly for reservations.
